As the end of the year approaches, I want to thank each and every one of you, dear reader, for being a part of Taming the Light in 2023.Â
I started this publication back in January as an attempt, as in Rilke’s words, to begin, to love, to suspect, to connect with what is remote and inexpressible, all the way up into the stars. What began as an act of self-processing evolved into a blank canvas for aesthetic exploration across art, literature, food, and fashion, eventually blossoming into this intimate community today - with 115 of you here, cheering me on, spreading the word - for which I am tremendously grateful.
I look forward to what 2024 has in store for all of us. For Taming the Light, this may mean new formats, new subjects, and collaborations with other creatives. I remain a firm believer in quality over quantity, but will also strive towards a more regular cadence in dispatches. Any and all feedback is much appreciated.
Whether you’re new here (welcome!) or have stuck around since day one (you know who you are), I hope this was and will continue to be a space of solace for you, as it was and will be for me.
On the heels of the winter solstice, I wish you peace, warmth, nourishment, and joy - as we begin again our glorious ascent from darkness towards the light.Â
